Behind the Scenes: Packing Dignity Bags for Teens in Central Ohio

Packing Dignity Bags for Teens in Need

On October 28th, we had the privilege of hosting a group of families, led by our board member Dr. Lindsay Wylie, to pack 250 Dignity Bags for local teens. These bags, filled with essential hygiene products, are part of our mission to help young people in need right here in Central Ohio.

That night was more than just packing bags. It was about coming together as a community to make a real difference. Volunteers of all ages worked side by side, sorting donations and filling the bags. They shared stories, enjoyed pizza and snacks, and talked about why access to hygiene is so important.

Hygiene products like shampoo, soap, and toothpaste may seem simple, but for a teen without them, they can make a big difference. These items help teens feel better about themselves and give them the confidence they need to face the world.

Why Hygiene Matters

We often take hygiene for granted, but for teens in need, it can be a challenge. Without basic hygiene products, teens might feel embarrassed or self-conscious, making it harder for them to engage in school or social situations. By packing Dignity Bags, we’re giving them more than just products—we’re giving them a sense of dignity and confidence.
